Pre & Post Care Instructions for Optimal Treatment Results
If you are a first time patient or have had changes to your medical history, please be sure to complete a brief medical history and/or informed consent for procedure prior to your appointment.
INJECTABLES
Before Appointment:
-
If you have a special event or vacation, please consider scheduling your appointment at least 4-6 weeks in advance.
-
It is recommended to discontinue aspirin, ibuprofen, ginkgo Biloba, garlic, flax oil, cod liver oil, Vitamin A, Vitamin E, or any other essential fatty acids at least 48-72 hours before and after to minimize bruising or bleeding.
-
Avoid alcohol, caffeine, niacin supplements, high-sodium foods, high sugar foods, refined carbohydrates, spicy foods, and cigarettes 12-24 hours before and after your appointment as these may increase the risk of bruising and bleeding.
-
If you are not feeling well, or develop an illness (cold/flu/covid), cold sore, blemish, rash, etc., in the area to be treated, please reschedule until resolved.
-
It is recommended to discontinue retinol 2-3 days before treatment to avoid increased redness or irritation.
-
It is recommended that you wait at least two weeks to have Jeuveau or Dysport treatment if you have had treatment with facial laser Sculptra, microneedling, peels, or microdermabrasion. It is also recommended to wait two weeks after treatment to have any of the aforementioned performed.
-
Eat something prior to your appointment. Getting light headed is no fun for you, or us.

Post Care:
-
Do NOT lie down flat, rub, or touch the treated areas for at least 4 hours.
-
Avoid hot saunas or massage for 24-28 hours after your injections.
-
Avoid wearing makeup for at least this time or until the day after treatment. Earlier runs the risk of infection.
-
The treatment takes two weeks (14 days) for the full effect. It is recommended that if a touch-up is needed, it be done 14-21 days after the initial treatment. If you feel you have more movement than you would like after day 21, increasing the dose at your next appointment may be appropriate. This is not a block failure, your muscles likely just require more. Please let us know, be honest (you will not hurt our feelings) so that we can adjust accordingly and most importantly, help you feel the most confident and satisfied.
-
Avoid wearing headbands or tight hats after treatment.
-
Avoid vigorous exercise or yoga for 24-48 hours. Keep in mind your muscles may feel "heavy" post injections. Certain exercises like jumping jacks, planks, or downward dog may exacerbate this feeling. It is best to stay upright when exercising (and sleeping) to avoid inflammation, discomfort, or adverse outcomes to your initials.
-
Neurotoxins are expected to last 3-4 months but it is also normal to have some movement begin to return around the 8-10 week mark. Following treatments should be done in 12-16 weeks. Consistency is best with neurotoxins!
WELLNESS
Please know Side Effects are possible, they include:
-
Bruising at the site of injection
-
Rash
-
Dizziness
In general, most people feel very good after IV therapies. However, a few patients do feel worse after a session and may experience:
-
Headache
-
General Unwellness or Body aches
-
Diarrhea or Constipation
-
Sinus Congestion or Flu-Like Symptoms
These symptoms can indicate that stored toxins are being released and cells are now cleaner. Please continue reading for after care to know how to prevent this.
AFTER IV therapy, it is recommended to:
-
Avoid alcohol and allow your liver to recover from the detox.
-
Drink lots of water to flush things out.
-
If you have diarrhea, allow it to run its course. Do not take an anti-diarrheal.
-
If you have constipation, take high dose oral Vitamin C and Magnesium which can cause loose motion (a good thing here).
-
Take a magnesium salt bath. The magnesium can help draw out more toxins from your skin, speeding up the process of toxin extraction.
-
Intermittent fasting, gives your digestive system a break.
-
Be sure to let us know if you experience side effects, if any. They should pass and in the long run, you will have healthier cells but we want to walk you through it and stay in the know to err on the side of caution.

ON MEDICATIONS? While we will diligently review your medications for possible interactions, please help us in reviewing your medications and/or reaching out to your doctor prior to your appointment. Please refer to each individual IV Therapy (listed under Services) for a list of their ingredients.
Vitamin D is generally regarded as safe, however, there are blood pressure controlling and cholesterol reducing drugs that can interfere with the absorption of Vitamin D or cause hypercalcemia. Steroids can reduce calcium absorption and impair your body's processing of Vitamin D. If you are on any medications for weight loss such as Wegovy (or Semiglutide), please know that they can increase your heart rate and vitamins can affect their efficacy or increase possible side effects.
